Plum Baby 'Little Foodies' Review

A few days ago, I posted my review of Plum's Taste Adventures

As well as the Taste Adventures we received two Little Foodies dishes; Jamaican Jerk Mango & Chicken with Wholegrain Rice and Moroccan Tagine with Apricot, Lamb & Bulgur Wheat. These are aimed at children from 1-2 years old but as I let C eat what we eat, we gave them a shot (after all, he is almost 1!)

Little Foodies are described as:
"Gourmet meals for budding foodies - specially prepared to introduce your tot into a whole new world of unique tastes and textures."

Firstly, we tried the Moroccan Tagine.

At first taste, it seemed very tomatoey (I don't really like tomato-based baby food) but you get a real kick of lamb (which is free-range, by the way!). I don't think I've ever given C lamb before so I was interested to see if he'd like it.

What was I thinking? Of course he liked it! It was really easy for him to chew and although there were chickpeas in it (which seemed quite hard to me) he had no problems with them. He finished the whole pot and I would have happily eaten this myself. We'll definitely purchase this in the future.

Finally, we tried the Jamaican Jerk Mango & Chicken with Wholegrain Rice.

This was a lot chunkier.. While scooping it into C's bowl after heating I thought the smell was amazing. You can really taste the chicken and mango flavours. I've never tried jerk chicken so didn't really know what to expect but I thought this was delicious and was happy to feed it to C.

As always, he enjoyed it and ate every bit. I did think that the flavours may be a bit too strong for him - in my opinion, this is the strongest of them all but I believe he liked that aspect. I'll definitely purchase this in the future.

The Little Foodies range contain 3 daily tot portions of fruit and veg so I was glad to see that he was getting nutrients from these. They also contain no added sugar, preservatives or artificial colours or flavours.

(Disclaimer: I received these items free of charge in exchange for an open and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.)
